Barbara Schmid-Heidenhain, born in Berlin, was for a long time editing chief at a publishing company, responsible for schoolbooks at the primary level. Her interest in art and in languages (as graduate scholar in German) led her to new fields of activity in connection with several travels to East-Africa: She launched Edition Pamoja to publish titles related to East-African art, literature and policies for developing countries, sometimes in own translation from Swahili into German. www.editionpamoja.de
