Miza

Miza Mtumwa Makame was born on 14 August 2005. She grew up in a hardworking family in Jambiani, Zanzibar. Her father, Mtumwa Makame Hassan, is a farmer, while her mother, Shufaa Khalid Ayuba, also farms to support the family’s needs. With six children to care for, Miza’s parents have always emphasized the value of education, even though resources are limited. Relying on seaweed activities as their main source of income, her family has faced significant financial challenges. Miza is grateful for every opportunity to further her education, determined to make her family proud and pave the way for a brighter future.
Miza’s academic journey began at Jambiani Primary School in 2012. She continued at Jambiani Secondary School, graduating with a division 3 in Form Four in 2021. This success qualified her for advanced-level studies with the help of Child Development Fund (CDF) at Mwanakwerekwe C High School. With this invaluable support, Miza completed her studies in the AKL (Arabic, Kiswahili, and English Language) combination, graduating with Division 2. Her hard work opened the door to higher education. Miza was thrilled to be accepted in October 2024 into the State University of Zanzibar (SUZA), where she is now pursuing a Bachelor of Education degree.
Miza is passionate about becoming a teacher, with a mission to inspire and guide students toward success. She aims to leverage her education to assist her family and to become a dedicated educator in her community. Miza is grateful to CDF’s endorsement during her journey so far and is determined to excel at SUZA with this continued help, promising to work hard and contribute positively to the lives of her future students.
